I’m Allergic to Exercise
Yes, two Doctors actually said these exact words to me.
To prove them wrong I stopped “exercising” and it didn’t prove them wrong. So am I allergic to exercise?
Let’s start with Doctor Number one I’ll call him, The Allergist. He gave me two diagnosis’s that I considered bogus especially after he told me that, “allergies are very nimble and can change from day to day so I can’t really tell you what is a real allergy and what you are overreacting to today”. So when he told me my hives are because I am allergic to exercise all I could think of was his own critique of his entire career. LIES.
Over the next 2 years of hives I heard echos from family and friends that maybe I was training too hard. BOGUS. “I don't train that hard!” More hives and no solution.
Cue: Doctor Number two who was possibly 11 years old. I’ll call her Fresh Out of Med School. She suggested my active lifestyle was added stress to my system and could be causing my system to overreact, “you know there is such a thing as being allergic to exercise”. How could she possibly know anything about anything? DISCREDITED!
I’ll show those idiots. I’ll just stop working out and prove that everyone is totally wrong. WRONG.
The truth is I feel much better now that I am not pushing my body so hard. I am not having the extreme hives. My system is much more in balance. I plan to keep my system in balance and learn new ways to do that for myself.
The body is a keen communication device. We have to listen.
